About Paul DiscoeAn ordained Zen Buddhist priest, Paul Discoe is a Japanese-trained specialist in traditional temple construction. He designed and built many of the San Francisco Zen Center buildings. In addition to designing and building a number of homes and meditation halls, his original company Joinery Structures, now run by his stepson, Michael Coonen, recently completed an extensive home and garden complex in Woodside, California for Oracle founder Larry Ellison. With his new company, Live Edge, Paul Discoe is currently working on modular prefabricated housing systems as well as furniture, which promote the use of recycled and salvaged wood.
