Located at Joinery Structures in West Oakland, California, Live Edge LLC was formed by Paul Discoe in 2006 to construct, design and build prefab kit of parts structures out of wood salvaged locally from the urban forest and from other sustainable materials. Kit structures can be as small as 100 square feet or as large as a three-bedroom home.
In the process of milling lumber for kit buildings, we come across some extraordinary pieces of wood that are best used as a piece of furniture that shows off the inherent beauty of the wood.  These special pieces are offered for sale as well as made into furniture by associated artists at Live Edge’s studio in West Oakland.  We also offer our milling services with lumber cut to order from our freshly salvaged logs or for people who have a log or timber that they would like to have milled into a particular size for their needs. Planks and timbers recently cut, are also now in stock, along with veneered engineered timbers and shingles made from salvaged wood.
